Who wrote it
This course is published by HireGen, which builds recruitment software — resume parsing, AI screening and candidate matching. It came out of writing the same explanations repeatedly for people evaluating AI hiring tools, and it is maintained by the team that builds the product.
The conflict of interest, stated plainly
We sell a product in the category this course teaches. That is a real conflict and you should read the course with it in mind.
What we have tried to do about it: the course teaches you to interrogate any tool, including ours — see Module 1, Lesson 4 for the questions to ask a vendor, and Module 5, Lesson 4 for the test that reveals whether an explanation is real. There is one product pitch, at the very end, in Module 12, Lesson 5. Everything before it is meant to be useful whether or not you ever use HireGen.
If you find a place where the course shades toward the product rather than toward what is true, tell us. That is a bug.
What to be sceptical of
- The regulatory content dates fast. Two items in Module 11 changed in the six months before publication. Every lesson carries an updated date and the legal ones link to primary sources. Check the source, not us.
- The planning numbers are placeholders. Conversion rates, reply rates and effort estimates are starting points to be replaced with your own data. We have said so wherever they appear.
- One role family. The dataset and worked examples are data engineering. The method transfers; the specifics may not.
- Not legal advice. Module 11 describes how the landscape works. It is not a substitute for someone qualified in your jurisdiction.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, unclear, or did not survive contact with your actual pipeline, we would like to know. Email academy@hiregen.com — corrections get made and the updated date on the lesson changes.
The dataset and templates
Both are free and ungated, including for commercial use. The 500 resumes are entirely
synthetic — no real people, and email addresses use the reserved .test domain.
