Everything published here is open. You can read it, copy it, adapt it, teach from it and build on it — including inside a commercial product or a paid training programme. Three different licences apply, because the three kinds of material are used differently.

Open source licence
| Material | Licence | What that means in practice |
|---|---|---|
| Course text — all 73 lessons, the worked run, FAQs and diagrams | CC BY 4.0 | Reuse and adapt freely, commercially included. Credit the source and link back. You do not have to open-license your own additions. |
| Templates and worksheets — the twenty-one files in the resource pack | CC0 1.0 | Effectively public domain. Use them in client work, put your own branding on them, sell services around them. No attribution required, though it is welcome. |
| The 500-resume dataset | CC0 1.0 | Use it to benchmark parsers, train staff, test your own tooling, or build a course of your own. Every resume is synthetic. |
Attribution, if you are using the course text
A line like this is enough:

What the licences do not cover
- The HireGen name and logo. Trademarks are not licensed here. Do not imply that HireGen endorses your adaptation.
- Linked third-party material. The regulations, standards and papers cited in the lessons carry their own terms.
- The web fonts. Literata and IBM Plex Sans are licensed under the SIL Open Font License by their respective designers, not by us.
Why open at all
The course argues throughout that you should be able to inspect what a system does rather than take a vendor's word for it. Publishing the material under a restrictive licence would sit badly with that. It also means a recruiter can take the scorecard template into work on Monday without asking anyone's permission, which is the point.
No warranty
The material is provided as is. Module 11 describes how AI hiring regulation generally works and is not legal advice — verify the current position for your jurisdiction before acting on it. The planning figures throughout are starting points to be replaced with your own data.
